Team India's stand-in captain Shikhar Dhawan scored a brilliant half-century in the first ODI against New Zealand. He scored 72 runs in 77 balls with the help of 13 fours. During this, he completed 12,000 runs in List-A career (Shikhar Dhawan's List A Career), but could score a century that had been going on for three years.
Shikhar Dhawan became the 7th batsman from India to score 12,000 runs in List A career. Dhawan needed 43 runs to complete 12,000 runs. Shikhar Dhawan, captaining in the absence of Rohit Sharma, has scored 6744 runs in 162 ODIs with the help of 17 centuries and 30 half-centuries. The left-handed batsman hasn't played a Test since 2018 and a T20 since 2021. He only plays in ODIs.
