Actor Will Smith appeared on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah for his first late night interview since the Oscars controversy. Noah said, “I love Chris. I am his friend. I love you, but this is messed up.. I know black people get together and go, 'What was Will doing? What happened?' A lot of black people were like, 'He should go to jail, like, you need to rest yourself'. Some people were overreacting, which made some people underreact."

Sharing an anecdote after the Oscar evening, Smith told that when he came home at that time, his nine-year-old nephew asked why did you do this.
